- For every cycle your LLO is active, you agree to fulfill an equitable amount of labor time per cycle.

- Additional time labored beyond the CLO during that cycle will be saved and available to use towards any future labor obligation.
- Additional labor must be approved by your cooperative’s Logistics Representative.
- You must inform your Logistics Representative when using saved labor hours.
- Saved labor hours will be held for the member’s lifetime. No amendment can remove these hours. You are allowed to use saved time to shorten you LLO, and achieve an “early retirement”.

- ex. A job with a labor scalar of 1.2 will count all labored hours as 1.2 hours per hour.
- The Scalar is not issued on a personal basis, only by labor position. All persons of the same position will receive the same scalar.
- The Scalar is set to 1 by default.
- The Healthcare Committee can increase the scalar if the labor is considered hazardous or presents extreme risks.
- The Logistics Committee can increase the scalar for labor that has immediate demand to fulfill.
- The Governing and Logistics Committees can temporarily decrease the scalar for members who are in “poor standing” towards their CLO.
- See more details about “standings” in CLO Standards
- The Labor Scalar is designed to create equity between labor that is considered inequitable by the community. The Labor Scalar is a variable to change the CLO for a specific job.
- Necessary Labor
- Only labor towards maintaining the Necessary Systems will qualify towards LLO and CLO.
- All Necessary Systems are fulfilled through a Cooperative
- All positions for any cooperative must offer enough labor to fulfill the CLO.
- Labor towards an Unnecessary System will not qualify towards LLO and CLO.
- The Community Committee is allowed to approve Unnecessary Systems as a Community Necessary Subsystem, allowing the community to equitably allocate labor and resources towards community systems.
- Labor towards adopted Community Systems is a privilege offered by the Community, not a right of this contract.
- Adopted Community System labor may be revoked at anytime by the Logistics Committee.
- Affected members will be given priority towards selecting a qualifying necessary cooperative.
- If a position requires additional education or training, the Cooperative can submit a temporary Education Exemption Status until completion of the course.
- Failure to complete the education or training in an equitable timeline may revoke this exemption status, acceptance for the desired position, or acceptance into the cooperative.
- Cooperatives may elect Committee Representatives to act on behalf of the cooperative and it’s members.
- Representatives are still considered members of the cooperative and any time spent in Committees as a Representative will count towards LLO and CLO.
